Bart All In One version 1.4

Hello all, I have just completed a very useful tool that I think every one will want...assuming it doens't suck.

So Here's a screen shot of my All in One.

It sends you through the steps to create Bart PE using PE Builder, then it uses Batcher (discussed in another thread at this forum) Batcher will reduce the size of a PE directory to about 60MB (this version) then Step 3 does a set of batch files that will make it boot into ram. Step 4 is using qemu to test it, then Step 5 Burns it.

I just whipped this together, and I'm sorry I don't have time to talk about it much but download it and tell me what you think.

I have two side things to mention.
First if you skip to step 3 you can make ANY bart pe directory boot into ram, or have it take any Bart PE directory and make install on a USB device (as of version 1.3 and later)
In any case I have only one link to download at rapidshare
Any way here's the link.
http://rapidshare.de/files/17284378/BartAIO1.4.zip.html

I hope you all like it and don't rip me apart if it sucks, I don't work with this stuff as much as some of you.

EDIT: I moved the link to the latest version. And fixed the picture to resemble the latest version. Then I added version 1.4.

Wow hooovahh!!. Very impressive.

But if you want or need to backup data with a BartPE system that has only a single CD drive doesn't the ExpressBurn plugin do that?

See this posting.

CONGRATULATIONS!!! biggrin.gif
I've built all sorts of BartPE now, with tested plugins, drivers, homemade plugins, on CD, on USB, etc)... and none worked at the first try .
Your tool did! smile.gif and is well documented, too.
It allows creating a very convenient small rescue tool.
Thanks

Your works looks great!

Keep up with your development!

p.s. In the Ram menu, there is a small mistype where it should be written "drive" instead of "die" wink.gif

But I really liked it..!

Thanks alot DigiWiz nice to talk to you again.

@neue
I'm glad you like it, I kinda forgot to ask if I could use your batcher program...so uh can I?

Thank every one for your testing, I've finished another version of this AIO. I've uploaded the new version to rapidshare, and I changed the link and picture for the new version. The only thing changed in this version is every spot that has you type in the location of some thing, I know have a browse folder button, or browse for file button. It seems to work alright, still can't have spaces in the path...it's kinda complicated using auto play for that.

I'll be fixing the typo soon too... rolleyes.gif

And I've tried using express burn, nero, and small cd writer putting it into ram then removing the disk to burn, but had little to no success, once with small cd writer it did burn the cd, but it never told you when the cd was done, it just was stuck at 0% I waited for the drive to stop being active, and it turns out it burned the cd, this way will work no matter what. It's also quite fast, it took me about 1.5 minutes to completely boot, (just a guess) after it loads into ram (about 45 seconds) every thing is fast.

That's convenient! smile.gif
Could you also let it remember the last used path? (my two cents) rolleyes.gif

Ok. I see that the plugins run from scripts instead of the nu2menu. So---I need to know how to add my own plugins work. Finished size isnt necessarily my objective. I dont have to run it from ram. I need to add just a few of my own plugins.

Thanks

@hooovahh
I've downloaded your second version of BartAIO, but there's something in it which prevents the creation of the iso, whereas the previous version worked fine.
I mean, it does create SmallPE.iso, but doesn't add it to RAMPE.iso. rolleyes.gif
I ran the two in exactly the same conditions from two different drives, so (I think) it shouldn't be something in my environment.

I realize now that I'm an idiot, when I made my 2nd version the thing I changed was the default final iso name could be any thing, instead of just rampe.iso. Previosuly that was hard wired into the batch file, but in the new version I still had it in as rampe.iso but the user could make what they wanted...basically the work around for that version would be when it says what the name of the iso should be I would say type in a directory (like C:\blah) my 3rd version (I'm calling it 1.2) has that problem fixed. And the link above is for 1.2.

Yes unfortunatly when batcher runs it removes many system files that aren't always nessicary, this is why when using batcher you should have no plugins on your bart pe directory sorry.
As some one already mentioned you can still add functionality with scripts for batcher.

New things in 1.2:
It now has two .ini files in it that remember your last sessions settings.
You can now have spaces in the file, or folder paths for every thing. I've tested it today and it worked, but I won't be surprised if there are problems.
I forgot to fix the typo...sorry.

i would like to thank you again for building this program. wub.gif

i've been playing with it for several days and learning a little bit also. i can now use the scripts to build an iso{i had no clue where to put them before} although i still have no idea how to write them.

the qemu launcher part of your program is the most useful to me at this point. i had never used qemu untill now,i use virtual pc to test my iso's. now i perfer qemu as it is faster and uses less system resources{i've been running every iso i can find}.

thanks again,

Somehow, I don't have a clue how to install BartAIO. I downloaded file "BARTAIO[1].v1.2.rar" (9788 KB) from the link provided:

http://rapidshare.de/files/16927957/BARTAIO.v1.2.rar

Extension "rar" means nothing to me nor my WinXP so I changed it to "exe" and run the file. In split second the command line executed something and closed down. Now I have two questions:

1) Do I have to wipe out (format) all my partitions and do recovery of all of them from my Acronis backup ? (in case there is some monster installed somewhere on the system)

2) What is the right procedure to get AIO working?

Thanks

@bober
Your very welcome for my little creation, when I made it I was hoping I would inspire some one to pick my program appart and learn a few things. I still prefer VMWare over qemu, but for just testing an ISO it's so much easier to use qemu. Also good luck with your script writing.

@kimberlito
Hello, I presume you don't have much experience at this forum. The .rar file you downloaded is similar to a .zip file (which windows xp is familar with) .rar is just another compression method. You can download 7-Zip which can decompress .rar files. Here is 7-Zip's home page: http://www.7-zip.org/

I'd recomend actually downloading the first link I posted.

http://rapidshare.de/files/16886369/BARTAIO.zip.html

This is the latest version (1.2) and it's already in a .zip format. Download it, right click and say extract all. Extract the files, then run autorun.exe, this will run you through the procedure.

If you have any other questions please don't be shy.

@DigiWiz
Thanks alot buddy for updating your mirror, the original reason why I asked for a mirror is because the file was originally being hosted on my website. And some people said there were problems with downloading from my site, which is why I asked for a mirror at rapidshare. But thanks still for helping me out, you even changed the file name to represent the new version, awsome.
