Sorry if this has been asked before.....

Just wondering if there is going to be a BARTPE for Vista when it comes out in January (If that happens in Jan.)?

@Steel

Are you sure about this? Any link where Bart said he is working on Vista-version?

BartPE is now invalid for Vista. I'll be working on the Vista builds from this point. I was supposed to be helping you guys with the legacy betas for the past season but I haven't had anything to develop the builds upon let alone test. So far it's going to be....Interesting. =/

I'm not entirely sure if the "recovery environment" is a valid option if users get screwed by the overuse of BitLocker. I haven't messed with Vista in a while and I have very little if any(acceptable measurement) concentration anymore. sad.gif

Unless BartPE doesn't work with Vista's file system why should it matter?

I tried to recover data from Vista Ultimate RC1 "My Documents" - it seems encrypted. BartPE can't access it! MS seems to have changes quite a few security items...

From the little bit of what I read on the licensing of WinRE the redistro access is different. So this might affect how bart compiles his next buider.

Unless i was seeing things ..... now let me try again ..... perhaps was some editor or some other app - will check again and report....

BTW
Just read report on MS PE Vista - and it has got some very very nice features! Like allowing you to boot from USB/CD and if app tries to write to unwrittable media (CD) then it automatically redirects the writing to a RAMDIsk area....... This will solvea lot of app problems needing to run from ramdrive.... go read it its under the vista section
