Hi!
I'm trying to use the network boot disk as part of an unattended network installation of Windows XP.
The disks are great for adding driver support for all NICs used in the environment.
I thought the snag I had was that the server name was too long, so I tried to solve it by creating an alias CNAME record in DNS for the Windows 2000 server holding the install point that was 8 characters long, and changing the registry setting described in:
http://support.microsoft.com/kb/281308
After this was completed, Windows XP workstations can map to <cnamealias>\share$ with no issues, but the network boot disks still cant seem to map to the location.
Any ideas why I can't access this installation point?
Any other information I can provide?
Thanks!
