hello, i have an IBM thinkpad notebook w/o an OS installed with a non formatted hard disk. It has no internal floppy drive but does have a lan incorporated. how can i access and format the hard drive from another pc through a lan connection? Is it possible to create a partition and format the drive on my notebook using another pc?

i am unsure if it is possible, you mention no floppy this can be solved by using a bootable cd, otherwise you may want to get a usb floppy and try that if all else fails remove our hd from your laptop and get a converter for your desktop pc and start the install from their or at least copy the neccessary files to start the install.

failing this take ur laptop to a specialist repair shop and they will repair but it will cost you big time for something so simple
