Batcher won't create an ISO at this part of the process. Step 2 Reduces the size of the Bart PE directory, but with the default stuff there won't be an ISO created, but a acceptable path must be given to start batcher.

Also I've come to realize that my AIO is really popular look at all these mirrors some one found for version 1.3

Hi Hooovahh,

Thanks for your Help !!!
Nuno Brito
Is 1.4 updated with batcher 1.17?

I'll update my link tomorrow, and probably update it to 1.17 - this batcher is faster and easier to use rather than 1.16.. smile.gif

@hooovahh
The new GUI of BartAIO 1.4 is perfect now and works very well (thanks hooovahh) biggrin.gif .
It would be even better if it included the more recent ScriptPack (Batcher 1.17). rolleyes.gif
I've tested the new PE to USB features and noted the following:
1. The "Install" button only works if a srsp1 folder containing ramdisk.sys and setupldr.bin from 2K3 is created under PEbuilder
2. The "Format + Install" button doesn't work (it does nothing) for me. unsure.gif

Thanks to Nuno Brito, Draugen and Hooovahh!

I now have my MicroBartPE (49.1 MB) fitting on a business card CD with the applications I use most besides virus and malware removal tools. Here is a screenshot:

Yes the new version will have batcher 1.17. :rollseyesback: I'll also look into the problems with the USB installer. I simply threw that on there and was hoping it would all work. I didn't understand what your first point is. there is a folder called srsp1 with those files in it isn't there? (there was supost to be)

Also every one I've been thinking about making a multi-langual version. Would any one be interested? It would be alot of work if no one really wanted it. Tell me what you think.

@philon
It looks good, glad to see I can help.

Sorry, my fault. rolleyes.gif It is there!
I used the standard PEbuilder and had to add that folder manually; I didn't realise you had already changed pebuilder in your last release. sad.gif Forget my (stupid) comment, please. I've edited my previous post.
Regarding the second point, I don't mean that "Format" doesn't work well ... but only that the button is inactive. unsure.gif
Anyway, I formatted my stick manually and, thanks to you, I now also have a 57 MB BartPE on it (running in RAM and very fast!) biggrin.gif

After I boot the disk and click on one of the installed programs I get the error--
x:Documents and Settings\Default User\Desktop refers to a location that is unavilable.
I click on the OK button 4 times and the and the error goes away and the A4 program laods.
I looked at the menu.rc and it appears to be pointed to the correct location.
Any idea what could be causing this error?

Using verion 1.4

Thanks in advance for your help.

I had the same problem with my previous pe builds, try using the latest version and that should be fixed.

A43 version 2.45 download (released 6-15-2005)

Is available here

You can change the default english language of your A43 to your local language, in the website there are also several language files to choose from.. smile.gif

An alternative method (suggested by draugen) is to delete the ini file "A43.INI" where all file settings are written - the folder "links" is not needed too.

I hope this solves your problem!

Thanks I'll fix that in version 1.5. I haven't had much time to tinker with my AIO, work called me back part time, so now I can't work on my AIO much, but I have the internet more.

Just for fun I created a bootable usb stick with this program ,however I am not able to use the usb mouse or keyboard. I included the USB Plugin in the build but for some reason USB support is not loading. Has anyone else run into this issue?

That is strange, maybe it's related to your bios? Some motherboards have strange behaviors - perhaps you should post dietmar for that problem.. he'd really help you solving this case. smile.gif
Farmer Geek
It is entirely possible that it is a BIOS issue with my Dell GX620. Many of the OEMs ship with a dumbed down BIOS.

Thanks again.

thanks man

i think of this idea before but i leave it for 2 things

1- I think AIO programes are not legal here

2- my HD is down and I lose all my programes ( All my PE programes )

this is a greet work please add other programes ( e.g. reg2inf , some tweaks , some helpful sites, etc )

huh.gif uh...how is an AIO not legal? This AIO (like any AIO) simply takes tools that are in several locations, and puts them all in one place.

Sadly I do not have much time to tweak with this AIO right now...by that I mean no time right now. But I would be glad to add tweakin stuff and what ever. I often check to see if any new batcher scripts have been made. If any one sees one that should be added say some thing.

I'm trying to debug the processing of batcher to make it run faster and better, next .scripts will most likely have much more functions.. smile.gif

Ahhhhhhhhhhhhh.................. Now I see. Thx!..
Nuno Brito
I liked AIO because it had lots of explanations included in the GUI, helping people to understand what it can do, most times I have to try the program, run most options inside it, just to get a clue on what it actually can do - people tend to forget that.. (and I guess I'm probably a bit guilty with the lack of explanations around batcher itself.. dry.gif )

But I think AIO is a simple way to get the job done, using several different tools.. clean & simple smile.gif

I'm a newbie on this forum although I've been using a Bart PE emergency disk for almost 2 years but haven't got a CD-Burner software in it.
So, looking around for a solution to burn CD's from a bootable environment, I've found this topic and I've found BartAIO absolutely great!
I've done a BartAIO as directed but unfortunately I got an error message when I ran it. The error occured even at iso testing.
When Bart PE is almost full loaded an black DOS-type window pops-up and this is what it says:

'startnet.cmd' is not recognized as an internal or external command, operable program or batch file
x:\i386\system32>_

When I'm closing that window the system automatically reboots.
Please tell me where I'm wrong or what I must do to fix this error.
Thanks
Nuno Brito
That means your default shell is cmd.exe - when you close it, the system assumes you want to reboot..

There a solution for this - go to the AIO folder and search for batcher, inside run batcher.exe.

Search for the option where an item named xoblite is placed - that is the default shell for batcher - and will most likely solve your problems in future builds.

Batcher is a standalone program - you can get newer versions in http://batcher.pt.vu

and the scriptPack from http://scripts.pt.vu, wich will allow you to boot into RAM and already includes lots of tools - including cd-recorders..

It is not complicated, there's a lot of info, and many people around here that can help you with these things..

Good luck! smile.gif

Though, I haven't quite understood what I must do with the xoblite option wich, indeed, contain a file named startnet.cmd. Do I have to uncheck the option "xoblite" ? or what else?

There is no startnet.cmd at this point.. You must mannualy edit your registry hive or..

Let's do it this way..

Make a fresh bartPE build - and don't select any plugins..

download the scriptPack from http://scripts.pt.vu

extract all files and run batcher

inside batcher select your working paths (sourcedir=YourWindowsInstallCD, targetdir=YourFreshBartPE, isofile=BootPE.iso)

Press start and see what happens..

If you use batcher for a while, you'll quickly start to understand how this works.. laugh.gif

smile.gif Finaly I've managed somehow to get it going! I don't know exactly what was wrong. I've actually made an ISO using the old v 1.2 and blink.gif ...it worked. So I re-unpack the v.1.4 but this time in a folder special created for it not just in a temp one. This time worked fine. I suposed that first time some paths weren't corect. In the latest version first step of the iso making (the last part of the process) doesn't give any echo and thats not very good as you're not able to see if everything was copied succesfuly to the Bart Temp directory (ver 1.2 does).
Anyway, its all a great job. Thanks again to everybody involved in the project for it .
I still have two issues about it.
1. Why the A43 file manager can't move files from or to the disk C: (NTFS)? The Paste option is greyed out-inactive.
2. I sugest that in the next versions to include some plugins to be able to edit Remote Registry files as in the present form the regedit option is useles.
Nuno Brito
You need a couple of files to make copy&paste work - those files were added in the latest scriptpack - check batcher's post for more details.. laugh.gif

Remote Registry sounds good, perhaps I'll add it in a very near future.. smile.gif
hooovahh
sorry about the confusion with the startnet.cmd file. Even when you have no plugins on Bart PE will look for that file to start the network detection. I didn't like the fact that it would give that error of not finding the file every time it booted. So I made a startnet.cmd file in the xoblite script for batcher. It simply says start xoblite.

Glad to see every thing was resolved, I'm glad there are some inteligent people monitoring this thread.

Again when 1.5 comes out I'll have the latest A43 script.

I'm not familiar with Remote Registry, if some one simply makes a script I'll include it.
Nuno Brito
I'll be looking forward to see a 1.5 coming out..

btw: Do you need any custom change to batcher's scripts? cool.gif

Custom...no I guess not, maybe...no I think it's fine as it is, people can use batcher as a stand alone adding and removing the scripts as they see fit. So While I could ask for things to be tweaked I think it would be best to leave it as it is. But thanks for the offer.

Wow that seems like alot of work...I'll see what I can do, but I feel conflicted, I would want full read/write and compression is good, and it loads faster...but the .iso file is so easily opened and edited. Guess I just haven't been converted yet. I'll still research it and see what I can do, but I need to download some big files. I think I could ask for some assistance, but I think it might be hard meshing work that some one else has created with my AIO.
FeReNGi
You just need SDI loader from windows embedded.

Create an sdi -file and mount it with sdi-loader.
Then copy the stuff with robocopy
dismout and build the iso.

everything is faster, no need for ramdisk anymore because sdi is writable and can also be compressed.

if you need some help let me know. I can post the ony msi-file you need on rapidshare...

And by the way is robocopy included in this msi? I found a GUI of robocopy if that'll do I'll use that.

I've did a little research some time ago, robocopy is an "oldie" tool that comes ever since windows NT - it's included in the bundle of software that is distributed by microsoft.. wink.gif

Maybe an oldie but very efficient in copying files in a network even better then xcopy.
Robocopy can be found in the resource kits of any windows version.

Robocopy only copy the changes and is very fast. And changes included also delete of files !

A small how to :
CODE
Create SDI Disk with SDILOADER

166 mb
182 mb
300 mb

Other size are wasting space !

Keep 20mb free for use of Profiles directory, etc...

Okay, I'm done spamming this thread. Here is my final walkthrough. All credit goes to the OP.

Note: This process was shaky at best with CD-RWs. I recommend using CD-Rs instead.

1. Build minimum BartPE
2. Test that ISO that was built boots just fine and dandy
3. Extract RAMDISK.SY_ and SETUPLDR.BIN from Win2K SP1, then expand RAMDISK.SY_
4. Copy RAMDISK.SYS to C:\BartPE\i386\system32\drivers
5. cscript "C:\Program Files\Windows Embedded\utilities\SDIMgr.wsf" WINPE.SDI /new
6. cscript "C:\Program Files\Windows Embedded\utilities\SDIMgr.wsf" WINPE.SDI /createdisk:140000000
7. Launch "c:\Program Files\Windows Embedded\bin\sdiloader.exe" and 'Add Disk' WINPE.SDI
8. Launch disk manager. Partition and format from there (make sure to use NTFS and enable compression)
9. robocopy.exe /MIR C:\BartPE\ R:\ /MIN:150000 /R:3 /W:4
10. defrag r: -f -v
11. robocopy.exe /MIR C:\BartPE\ R:\ /MAX:150000 /R:3 /W:4
12. Launch "c:\Program Files\Windows Embedded\bin\sdiloader.exe" and 'Remove Disk'

*** Note: For all files below, make sure that EVERYTHING is in caps ***
13. Create new folder - and copy WINPE.SDI to root - "C:\RamPE\WINPE.SDI"
14. Copy C:\BartPE\bootsect.bin to "C:\RamPE\BOOTSECT.BIN"
15. Create folder C:\RamPE\I386\
16. Copy C:\BartPE\i386\NTDETECT.COM to "C:\RamPE\I386\NTDETECT.COM"
17. Copy SETUPLDR.BIN from 2K3SP1 to "C:\RamPE\I386\SETUPLDR.BIN"
18. Create WINNT.SIF in RamPE\WINNT.SIF as follows:
[SetupData]
BootDevice = "ramdisk(0)"
BootPath = "\i386\System32\"
OsLoadOptions = "/noguiboot /fastdetect /minint /rdimageoffset=36352 /rdpath=WINPE.SDI"

19. Verify that directory structure is as follows:
C:\RamPE
-BOOTSECT.BIN
-WINNT.SIF
-WINPE.SDI
-I386
---NTDETECT.COM
---SETUPLDR.BIN

20. Run the following mkisofs.exe command:
mkisofs.exe -iso-level 4 -volid "WinXPE" -A PEBUILDER/MKISOFS -sysid "Win32" -no-emul-boot -b BOOTSECT.BIN -hide BOOTSECT.BIN -hide boot.catalog -o pebuilder_inram.iso "C:\RamPE"
