I have seen this discussed in various areas of the board - but has anyone definitely gotten Windows Explorer (explorer.exe) to run as the shell in Windows PE 2.0?

Any links or docs would be enormously appreciated.

I know that it has gotten working in an old RC, but I don't know about recently. I would also really like to know if somebody has figured out how to make it run with the latest version.

Qucik answer yes, it works with the current Release, but not correctly, you can use Explorer as your main shell, but you can use it to browse any folders with any build from RC2 on, MS changed some of the code in explorer.exe to prevent it from running correctly with PE.

If you use RC1 everything works correctly, i currently have a CD running Explorer as my shell.

If you try file\run\browse from taskmgr.exe does it work?
