Full Version: Reatogo-240 Unable to launch

Hi to all....

This is the first time I am trying to create a Reatogo-PE disk and it has been a nightmare.

For some uknown reason, I am having all kind of issues and am unable to launch explorer.

First... When creating the .iso on my hardisk (with no plugins, no extra settings, etc.. Just what's on default) I have an error of a missing file named PLUGIN.OCX.

I do not understand why is asking for that file if it doesn't exist inside i386. Besides that, I decided to download it from the net and place it under a copy of i386 on my harddrive.

After successfully burning the iso, I got the following errors/missing files when trying to boot from it on a test machine.

Error while executing:
- SHDOCVW.DLL
- INETCPL.CPL
- ||ie4uninit.exe
- urlmon.dll

Skipping all the errors (Clicking OK), it goes to the "Shell" window where it ask to select a shell and enter your logon password??????? (WHAT PASSWORD???)

I just hit enter and the screen blinks and go back to the same place. (Like a refresh).
If I select the command prompt it will open a DOS shell window. But I can't go to a normal window session as it is supposed to be.

CAN ANYONE HELP ME PLEASE??????

I have been able to create other PE versions like the original Bart-PE 3.1.10a, but I want to be able to run Ghost on the disk and I tough this version has a lot of extra great plugins too. Why is so difficult to make?????

I'll appreciate any comments.
Thanks

PLUGIN.OCX was removed in one of the MS Security updates, so we know by this fact that you have a modified source OS for your builds.
Use a clean source directory with only XP SP2 slipstreamed, no extra patches or drivers added to your windows instalation folder.

The standard pebuilder download contains a ghost plugin that works just fine all by itself, but you have to add the correct file versions to the plugin.
Complete instructions are included in the \plugin\ghost8 folder.

Reatogo is a rather popular way of setting up a bartpe build that is dynamically scripted to build the plugins and settings before actually running the builder to create the iso file, while pebuilder by itself would rewuire you to read all the instructions and add whatever files/plugins you want which also means you will have to go through the learning process of understanding how it all works.

Another approach, a "Ready to build download" that has all files included and a ton of freeware programs that can do just about anything you may need is UBCD4WIN, see my signature for links.

bad CD media, poor readable
low RAM at test machine

Thanks for your reply. I never though of the MS security. I tried UBCD but not for windows, so I will give it a try to the just released 3.11 windows version.

I would try to redo it again and hope it works. I need Ghost and that's why I am trying it.

cdob.....

Yes.... The test machine only have like 256mb ram. But I read the latest REATOGO could launch well on low Ram Machines. I built another version with the expert mode so that I could select the low ram version on boot and still gives me all the errors and wont allow me to go inside explorer mode.

Thanks to all smile.gif
