this is my first post, so I do hope I have posted it in the right place?

First off I am trying to install Defrag 11 pro Trial I have had Defrag 10 pro on, but it wont instal I keep getting these srrors come
''MAKESTRRESOURCE called with wrong ID'' can anyone help me with this please, much appreciated

My crystal ball (notoriously not properly tuned) tells me that:

1. you are running XP SP2
2. that it is nlited
3. that your motherboard is an Asus K something with 512 Mb of RAM
4. that you completely failed to post about your hardware and Operating System

of the above only last point is definitely true, maybe you can prove it false by actually posting some details, and possibly the EXACT errors you have...

sorry about the lack of info here didnt know you need it anyway it is as follows:-
Running XP SP3
1024 Memory
512 Hard Drive
Mother board Acer F90M
The problem I have is OODTRRS.Dll is missing and MAKESTRRESOURCE called with wrong ID. the programme loads but no tabs or anything is useable on the tabs it's all grey hope this helps Thanks

It is possible that the missing .dll causes a malfunctioning.

Do you mean that is missing, because the program says so (it could be a wrongly registered or unregistered .dll) or because you searched for it everywhere on your disk(s) and it is nowhere to be found?

You mention that you had previous version installed, are you positive that the uninstalling of it went allright?

Or can you try (after having uninstalled the "new" one) re-install the old one and re-uninstall it?

this is what it said, but I looked and the file is there, I then uninstalled it and re-installed it with the same problem, so I went back to Pro 10 and that wouldn't install either lucky I did a back up! but I just did a sytem install to an earlier time and all is well now Im still runing 10 at the moment Iv install 11 on my laptop and that is ok

When you find similar problems, (.dll existing, but program unable to find it) you may try to re-register it:

Thanks for this jaclaz I appreciate your help, have tried this but says This file cannot be registered, was loaded but the DLLRegisterserver entry point was not found?
