I have a slave hardisk where i have saved the iso image of windows XP. I want to fromat C:

Can i format the C: Drive (right-click>format) while in windows PE and then
extract the XP image and install windows XP on C: ?
[while working in Windows PE]

What will differ from the manual procedure of format?
Is there anything i have to keep in mind before doing this ?

Unfortunately is not that easy.

There are a number of things that may come in the way.

A working approach is to have (after having formatted the HD as you wish) to copy the \I386 directory from the .iso image to hard disk and then run WINNT32.EXE with the appropriate switches.

But not all PE builds can run winnt32.exe flawlessly, so your mileage may vary.

Probably it would be easier to "adapt" to your situation this method:

You will need some patience with links on boot-land, as the board is experiencing some problems right now.
