Hi,

has anyone succeeded in starting Paragon Partition Manager Pro 9 via BCDW 2.01a?
I tried via .iso file and it would not work.

Any suggestions?

TIA,

Is that the Linux or win pe version of PM9. If its win pe I don't think you would expect it to work.

It's linux version, starting LILO bootmenu.
Why wouldn't WinPE work? (Sorry for dumb questins, but I've been out of this for quite a while now).

BCDW support BIOS routines at ISO file boot.
But there is no CD hardware emulated. As far as I know, no bootloader does this.

ISO file boot works, as long BIOS access are used.
Direct hardware access failes. Files are not found.

WinPE textmode boot use BIOS access files. This works. E.g. CD drivers are loaded at textmode setup.
At guimode setup direct access is used. There is no CD hardware. This fails.

Paragon Partition Manager Pro 9 maybe similar.
BIOS access works, direct acces fails.

May be, I'm wrong? But AFAIK BCDW supports loading of Linux-Kernel & INITRAMFS. (A lot of other loaders do so too.)
Why not extract these files & good? It's for my opinion always the best way (instead of using the whole ISO) for all linux-stuff on multiboot.

I have WinPE version of Paragon Partition Manager Pro v9.0 integrated into BCDW ver1.41. What I did was: 1) Extract boot info from Paragon CD into PARAGON.BIF file (all capitals) using WinISO; 2) place extracted file into root of CD with BCDW; 3) Extract Paragon ISO into root of CD with BCDW; 3) add into bootcat.ini file the line: \PARAGON.BIF ; Paragon Partition Manager 9.0 Professional

I know BCDW ver2 has bcdw.ini file instead of bootcat.ini - but the rest is pretty much the same. Anyway, it works for me without any problems. Linux version of Paragon might be different in terms of integration. I remember I saw on this forum detailed instructions about launching Linux version of Paragon thru BCDW.
