After a recent scan with my spyware program, pebuilder v3.1.3, would freeze part of the way through a build and eventually the computer would lock up completely.

I uninstalled pebuilder v3.1.3 and replaced it with v3.1.10a expecting the fresh install would replace the damaged dll, though I get the same problem.

I am running pebuilder under Windows XP Pro SP2.

I am looking through my logs to see if I can find the dll that was deleted, is there a way to identify and repair/replace the effected files?

Replacing the old version with the current version, which is what you did, replaces everything.

Does the problem occur is you disable your antispyware app? How about your AV app?

I shut down Zone Alarm Security suite and the build proceeded without problems or errors. I thought for sure I had a damaged dll somewhere.

Not sure why Zone Alarm has stopped playing nice with pebuilder. What would cause a conflict between the two that would freeze the machine?

At least now I can generate a disc build.

I mean, PeBuilder 3.1.3 is not exactly a "new entry", I guess it's the most used app to create PE's and has had no changes since WHAT , THREE YEARS:

Hopefully your wife does the checkbook balancing in your house.

Sure she does , but I am forced to try using all the time this kind of tricks in order to keep some pocket money for myself.

And anyway I was conceding the ZA guys a full year to acknowledge of the Release...
