Lavasoft has pulled the plug on definition file updates for Ad-Aware SE.

http://www.lavasoft.com/mylavasoft/company...es-discontinued

Does anyone know how to get its replacement, Ad-Aware Anniversary Editon (AE), running correctly on BartPE or if there's a plug-in for it?

Thanks!

Lavasoft has pulled the plug on definition file updates for Ad-Aware SE.

You can still manually download them. From a pre-PEBuilder update script I use
CODE
wget.exe -N -nv http://download.lavasoft.com/public/defs.zip
if errorlevel==1 goto Error
unzip -o defs.zip -d %cd%\files

Modify to fit your situation.

Unfortunately, manual downloads will only get you the last definition file, which is from March 31, 2009. After this date, there are no other updates, manual or otherwise, for AdAware SE. It has been end-of-lifed and the definition files for it will no longer be updated. From my previous link:
"As of March 31, 2009, technical support and Definitions File updates will be discontinued for Ad-Aware SE Plus, Ad-Aware SE Professional and Ad-Aware SE Enterprise."

I can't believe no one has addressed this issue. Adaware from BartPE is one of my most important spyware removal tools.

"is"? Don't you mean "was"?

We thought you were going to develop the new plugin.

"Is" within Windows, but longer in BartPE. As far as developing a plug-in, I have absolutely no idea how to develop one. I thought someone on this board who is used to creating/programming plug-ins would have figured this out already.
