So a couple of guys at work put me onto this site and said i should try building my own BartPE CD, they use it at work, and they say its easy to build.

But because im a gurl, and i dual boot with linux, i just wanna make sure they arent messing with me, and that once i boot the CD it wont doing anything to my dual boot setup, like overwrite the MBR??

It only does that if you install BartPE to the hard drive, right?

Know its probably a very paranoid question, but then i wouldnt put anything past the guys at work.

Thank in advance for answering guys.

The only known side effect is if you are using a version of the ntfs file system prior to Windows NT 4 service pack 6.

If you boot any pe system on a machine with the older ntfs file system, then the ntfs file system is automatically updated and will no longer be readable by NT 4 , lower then SP6... and there is no fix for this.

Please dont cross-post. You only need to open one thread per question.

Let's make it SP 4:

Or there are yet other changes for which SP 6 is needed? unsure.gif
