I've a request. I'm employee in IT strutcture with a lot of PC.

Alway use Bartpe to do first aid on machines. Often i need to reset administrator password,
and now with vista my ERD commander 2002 fails.

Anyone can suggest me an alternative to update my Bartpe ?

Like something similar to ERD because doesn't install anything on PC.

I like Windowsgate but if I remember well, our job antivirus detect it as bad guy.

Of course it is detected as riskware, hackware or whatever your protection software is calling it... its used to get past password issues so naturally a decent protection software would detect it... but that doesn't make Wndowsgate malware that would infect the system or any of that. If you are in IT... you should already know that though.

If your company wants you to be able to reset passwords, there is no logic in them restricting you access to this type of utility

Hi ! You could try ophcrack live CD.
It is linux based but it will find the password for you automatically, well, most of the time.

As IT guy I can do anything with PCs to solve a problem, but nothing to create a new one.
My group antivirus stop this and i think is a good thing.

I guess you have not learned the differences between malware and riskware then. It is probably just as well that you don't use it since you do not fully understand what is or is not malware etc.
