Hey everyone. Long time browser, first time poster! clap.gif

With the release of the new enterprise apps from Acronis I was wondering if anyone is working on a plugin for them? Specifically the Workstation version.

I can't seem to get the included crippled plugin working in a test enviroment.

Thanks.

What did the Acronis "Tech Support" people say, besides:

Is the selection on the Nu2menu?
Does it 'freeze' when selected?
Does it 'reboot' when selected?
Does it 'do nothing' when selected?

What efforts did you do?
What changes did you attempt?

What does "the included crippled plugin" look like?
Is there an .inf and .xml file?
Are you using the Sherpya XPE plugin?
what kind of "test enviroment", if it's the Workstation version?

Thanks for the reply Chuckr.

I was using the procedure in the user manual (page 173, i think). At the bottom of one of the above kb links there was another link "If the media does not boot". This is the problem I was having. But, this was a temp fix. Apparently it's a known problem because it aslo states "This will be fixed in a future update of Acronis Backup & Recovery 10."

I didn't make any changed to the plugin as I'm not too savvy with creating plugins. I did send an email to Acronis support but they will just point me to the kb article probably.

The included plugin is pre-compiled. Meaning all the required files are already in a folder called WinPE. The exe is not the same as the main application exe. It is a trimmed down version (No mounting or disc management and probably other features are missing also).
There is an .inf as well as an .xml file.
I am using Reatogo, so yes I am using XPE.
I build the ISO and test it in Virtual PC.

Thanks again!

Cause

The Acronis Managed Machine service needs to be started to let Acronis Bootable Media with Acronis Plug-in for WinPE 1.x or Acronis Plug-in for BartPE run.
Solution

After you receive the error message, start the Acronis Managed Machine service manually:
In the command line enter net start mms;
Then start Acronis Bootable Media X:\Program Files\Acronis\BackupAndRecovery\trueimage_starter.exe

Actually works, wouldn't it all resolve to automate "net start mms" and X:\Program Files\Acronis\BackupAndRecovery\trueimage_starter.exe ? unsure.gif

I.e. something like RUNONCEEX or autorun0.cmd?
