Hi.
Could someone tell me if Winbuilder, or BartPE, is the best program for building a XP w/SP3 live cd?

Also as a side interest, is there a legally downloadable version of Microsoft's WAIK that'll work with XP SP3, or does it handle it like it's SP2?

Well.. BartPE is a single product while WinBuilder is a boot disk engine.

The difference is important to understand because there exist a lot of different wb projects around the web.

Some are mentioned on the wiki page - http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/WinBuilder

So, in regard to your question:

I'd say try the different available project to see how they fit your preferences.

wb projects often have the advantage (and disadvantage) of constant updating with new features from it's developers. SP3 should be supported on LiveXP as far as I can tell and it's also supported on BartPE as well.

Yes, you can grab a free WAIK copy from Microsoft's site.

Should work with SP3 in the same manner as it worked for SP2, but are you trying to build a WinPE 2.0 project?

At boot land, people are already working on the newer WinPE 3.0 projects, very cool stuff.
