Hi guys,

Im using BartPE, and I want to get a plugin that allows me to disconnect and connect USB hard drives once BARTPE is up and running. I only get the USB drive showing up if i plug it in before it boots.

I know there is simular topic posted here http://www.911cd.net/forums//index.php?showtopic=22748 but I still can't get mine to work, and it seems the message has been lost in the multiple threads......

Apparently there are several links to a pluggin in the thread above, but the links are bad.........

I found a link here to a website http://www.anwald.com/index_en.html but im unsure if the USB & IEEE1394 plugin is suppost to give you USB hot swapable support. It doesn't seem to give me anything.

Does anyone have the procedure? it would be much appreciated.......

Hi DanceswithElves

If you cant find it else where the USB hot swap plugin is included with the ubcd4win project
(plugin\drivers\removable storage)

you probably also need a MMC plugin for Disk Management for cases where a device is detected but no drive letter is allocated
you also need Paragliders Hardware Plug&play plugin

Firewire support is not guaranteed

with XPE and ubcd4win you get a working green System Tray 'Hotplug' / 'Safely Remove Hardware' icon

The plugin files were posted in this posting: http://www.911cd.net/forums//index.php?s=&...st&p=157485 which you continue to ignore and look for something to download.

Those plugins could indeed play a part mbarnes, I have them both with my USB plugin. And I don't use the XPE plugin.

Good suggestion.

doudi, why did you mug your URL??

Hey Mike,

So I discovered something, I think USB hot swap plugin has been working ever since I loaded the USB & IEEE1394 plugin from Visit My Website

If i plugin a external USB drive, it shows up in Ghost right away in BARTPE. However, the explorer that im using is A43 File Management Utility that comes with BART, and that does not seem to update with the new drive letter. So any recommendations for a new Explorer? Maybe I need the disk Management loaded as well?

Maybe you need it regardless of Explorer. hmm.gif

I use the ExplorerXP plugin rather than the A43 one myself and like it.

Another USB Removal utility: USB Disk Ejector And it's free.
