The CD Forum > Bart's PE Builder > Plugins

I am new to this Bart PE stuff but I have made a partially successful attempt.
WordPad is "greyed" out and not available in the rescue envirnment.
How can I get WordPad included on the rescue CD?

Thank You for your support

So it is!! IF the Wordpad pgm is a stand alone exe what I suggest is adding it to the custom.inf file for inclusion to the BartPE build.

The custom.inf file is located in the PEBuilder\plugins folder's !custom folder. In the inf's [SourceDisksFiles] section add:

wordpad.exe=2

Rebuild the BartPE system.

Ed,

Thank You very much for this info and the links.
I will try this right away.

Hi castile

a standard Bart PE CD should have wordpad.exe on menu as standard

the source XP CD \I386 should have wordpad.ex_

pebuilder.inf contains line wordpad.exe=2

nu2menu.xml contains the menu entry for wordpad

I don't know what went wrong if you have booted up on a BartPE CD

However if you are running Windows and insert a BartPE CD then the program nu2menu.exe reads nu2menu.xml and brings up the BartPE Menu and wordpad is greyed out

Mike,

I have observed all those entries in the files you point out.
I couldn't find anything wrong there, nothing to correct.

I looked into the suggestion that I might make an entry in the "custom.inf" under the [SourceDisksFiles] section.
But I found no [SourceDisksFiles] in that file.

Your comment is probably right on because I have not actually booted from my disk. I have only observed what happens when Windows is running and I insert the disk.

That would mean that all is OK and I can stop worrying about it.

Thank You Much,
Dan

Excellent point mbarnes. thumbsup.gif And in my BartPE system I do have the wordpad.exe and I have no manual plugin to add it.

That is true, you would have had to enter it also. But as it turns out you don't need to change anything you just need to boot the CD and verify that it's bootable.

Ed and Mike,
Thank you both for your help and comments.
As I said, this is new to me and I have already learned a few things with your guidance.

Thanks again,
Dan
