Hi
I have encounter a problem regarding adding device drivers.
the attached pix is how i add the device drivers using offlinesysprep. I have extracted all Driverpack drivers into C:\
However sysprep will failed.
I have to do the following method in order to work.
1. Bootup Windows XP
2. Manual Driver scan using SPdrvscn.exe (v1.3.1.0)
3. Shutdown Windows.
4. Bootup LiveXP
5. Start Offlinesysprep
6. Shutdown
7. Capture Image
8. Deploy.
The different between using Offlinesysprep is the registry will add "%systemdrive%\D\CPU" command while Manual scan will add "C:\D\CPU" command.

Using RunScanner or similar, can you check the value of 'DevicePath' at 'HKLM\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion' after OfflineSysPrep has completed its operation? I want to know whether regarding the setting of a hard-coded path as opposed to using the %systemdrive% variable has been fixed.
Thanks,
Galapo.

HI
It seem that it is working. Yesterday I made a mistake by running the offlinesysprep twice since the first attempt failed to run due to network device not available just before running sysprep.
But anyway i will make another try to make sure that is the case.
PS: I have retest on others Dell Machine it will not start.
Does it make any different if using C:\ or c:\. Just now i manually edit the path replacing C:\ to c:\ and my virtual machine is able to boot properly I have yet tried on a physical machine.

Okay thanks. I will let you know the result on Monday.
It does not seem to be working on physical machine, so far work for my virtual machine.
Is it possible to create the devicepath entry to be "%SystemRoot%\inf;c:\d\a;c:\d\b;....."
I have to use livexp to edit the registry as follows to boot the machine.

Hi
Isn't the program is the same as what you have posted on 16th Jan 2010?
After i run the offlinesysprep the device path would be "c:\windows\inf;c:\d\a;c:\d\b;....." (virtual machine can boot up without any problem but for physical machine which was clone using Ghost server will not able to boot.) can you create something like "%SystemRoot%\inf;c:\d\a;c:\d\b;...."

I overwrote the location with a new file. Version on the gui should say 1.10.0.9d.
Sorry, I was noticing the use of lowercase rather than using %SystemRoot%.
I've again overwritten the location with a new test version 1.10.0.9e. See if this one is working for you.
Thanks,
Galapo.

It seem no different. After deploy from Ghost server, I need to use LiveXP to boot and rerun the spdrvscn. I believe the offlinesysprep 1.10.0.9e and using SPDrvscn manually create identical devicepath.
I have no idea what else can be the problem.

Hopefully we're nearing the end of this saga. Please
this version and then
this version.
I'm hoping you'll report that both work!
Thanks,

Version F: stuck at performing scan of specified OEM device path.
Version g:Failed to start Sysprep tool.
Is this normal?

What stuck -- OfflineSysPrep or mini-setup?

Version g:Failed to start Sysprep tool.
No obvious reason for that. 1.10.0.9g is the same as f, only difference is no hard-coding of paths in DevicePath. Perhaps a corrupted upload? I'll upload again in a minute.

Galapo.

Ok, done away with the dependency upon spdrvscn.exe and replaced with an internal function.
Please try a new test version
here.
Thanks,
