The CD Forum > Bart's PE Builder > USB Booting

Greetings.

Thanks for the suggestion.
I'll try again later with the multi/kick boot PE builds
after I build my new BartPE CD/USB team.

I have two minor questions.

1) How do I configure the TPFanControl inf file for my IBM ThinkPad laptop
to put TVicPort.SYS into System32\Drivers?
I have the inf file configured to place the program & Sys32 files
but I'm not exactly sure what the syntax should be for Sys32\Drivers.

2) Could I tweak the PE build registries for laptop T
to make the default keyboard layout German
to match the external mini backlit PS/2 keyboard I use on T?
Might need just a simple one line reg entry in the !Custom.inf?

Any helpful replies/insights appreciated.
Thank you.
Regards,

Which you should start TWO new threads for. whistling.gif

This thread is for Fuwi's utility, not an "everything in here" or "whatever problem/doubt AEN may ever have on a PE" one. wink.gif

Greetings.
I'm making this post here.
It doesn't concern me what someone like Jaco might say.

I have finished building my BPE CD4USB team.
I present such an approach as a complement/substitute
to Fuwi's kickboot tools if/when the PC in question won't kickboot.
My USB stick nu2go.bmp "Start Button" is sized/shaped
differently from the nu2go.bmp on the BPE CD.

I don't know if the following is related to the kickboot hang or not.
The first new BPE CD4USB I burned would not finish booting.
After the XP splash screen turned black, the boot stopped -
just like with the kickboot hang - however, laptop T then gave
the error message the shell32.dll was probably damaged
because the Prüfsumme was incorrect.

I use ResourceHacker tweaked explorer.exeS & shell32.exeS
(and some others) on my laptops and as a post-build pre-burn tweak
replace the built files with my ResHack tweaked files.
These have worked as well on PE builds with no problems.
I did a second build/burn without replacing shell32.dll
but received the exact same result/message.
So I did a third build/burn with my ResHacked files -
this time on a different CDRW make/model.
This burn works.

So, laptop T does not like/load BPE on certain CDs & maybe not on certain USB sticks ...

Fuwi, I'll gladly test any new tools you might wanted tested.

Maybe someone would be so good as to answer my posted unanswered questions?

Any helpful replies/insights appreciated.
Thank you.

I wish to thank you for the high consideration you seem to have for me. rolleyes.gif

Casually whistling.gif your post was moved to a new thread, as well as your previous questions, completely unrelated to the thread where you originally posted them:

Additionally, your warn level was raised as a sign of appreciation for the respect you have towards one of the Board Moderators. smile.gif
