i am feeling really bad rant.gif not even a single reply. when people could write tutorials on how to boot from USb after all this is such a simple task.

CODE
Put the Ghost.iso in C:\ drive

Put the Ghost'ed WinXp in D:\ drive

Make a Menu in Boot.Ini

Now boot the ISO in C:\ drive.

why hasn't anyone replied to this,,

Maybe it's because goku means in some languages of the outer galaxy "please don't reply to me" ? unsure.gif

Or maybe because you expected a reply within a few hours.

Or maybe simply because everyone is currently on strike or holydays.

Can it be done, in some fashion, probably. Can you do it, unknown.

From C:\, unlikely. What is a Ghost Imaging ISO? Where does it come from? Personally I've never used Ghost.

i am sure you know the Norton / Symantec Ghost Partition imaging Software.I do have a legal copy of the bootable 3Mb file.
So i want to put this file somewhere else & boot from it with a menu.

someone told me AvlGomgr is capable of doing this , but the home site seems to be down for days, rant.gif i am not able to download the file tongue.gif
jaclaz
Ok, let's start from the beginning.

AFAIK it doesn't exist a "legal" 3 Mb .iso of Symantec Norton GHOST 2003.

The one that's widely circulating is a "rip", actually made by creating a 2.88 floppy image and using it as a floppy emulation image.

Obviously it is perfectly legal to use a licensed copy of Ghost 2003 to create such a .iso, but if you know how to do it you won't need to ask how you can put the .iso on C: and boot it from BOOT.INI (which BTW it is not possible).

Hello again,

useful information:

http://www.911cd.net/forums//index.php?sho...rt=#entry111856

most of the links in above link are dead if you see what i mean
so the floppies mentioned above are in a zip file here below
==============================================
http://rapidshare.com/files/284521754/postBox.zip

================================================
ps the ghost mentioned above is ghost.exe (version 7.5 or 8) ie DOS version
the ghost is not on the floppies you have it on ghost 2003 CD
what is on the floppies are ghost command lines and other DOS tools

if you find all this too hard why not buy Acronis true image 11
and that gives you an option to make a hidden virtual partition(zone) which contains the disk image.
and a menu etc
check it out on their web site.

I have been out of computer bussiness for many years so i am in no position to
instruct you any more I have forgotten my DOS

regards Ben
