Today I've tried everything to migrate a working, good XP SP3 installation to this notebook:

http://esupport.sony.com/perl/swu-list.pl?mdl=VPCX111KXB

without success. I'm having a BSOD at boot.

Chipset Intel US15W, Paralell ATA Controller ID 8086-811A.

Any help would be appreciated. thumbsup.gif

Have you considered simply buying a new license?? happy71.gif

Is the mass storage driver for the device installed?

If not, you'll need to inject it into the system. Does the DriverPacks support the HWID of the controller? If so, you can use OfflineSysPrep to inject the driver. Otherwise, you need to use another method such as that of using peimg.exe: http://www.911cd.net/forums//index.php?showtopic=21867.

You see now the UTTER STUPIDITY of letting these BugmeNOT accounts? unsure.gif

BOTH Forum common and my personal crystal balls are at the moment out of order.
You need to post some details, if you want reasonably useful advice/help:
Use this as a guideline:

WHICH BSOD?
0x0000007b? <- this is related to mass storage driver
or ANOTHER one?

While I do understand that someone uses an anonymous account to quickly post soomething on the board, it would be appreciated if the something posted is meaningful.
Examples of UNmeaningful things sad.gif:
  • QUOTE
Have you considered simply buying a new license??
  • Have you considered simply using another OS??
  • Have you considered simply asking for assistance to a professional??
  • etc., etc., you get the idea, if you take the time to post, post something useful (apart showing that you are a moron)

solved by doing a merge ide, that could (maybe) be available on OfflineSysprep. to my understanding, is just make the standard PCI IDE controller match the HW ID.

I'm not the one who makes bad use of bugmenot account, please delete/ignore that post, as I did.

thanks, and I hope that my experience help others as I've searched a lot for a solution and couldn't find it.
