Full Version: Making a bootable BartPe Disk for an i5 processor

I'm having an issue with a new dell latitude e6410 laptop which uses an i5 processor. I've downloaded the latest BartPe software and created a bootable disk, but when I try using it on the laptop, it gets to the point where you can see the Windows XP loading and then BSOD. The error message points to the chipset drivers. Any help would be appreciated.

enter in your bios setup and chk for something like sata/raid mode ,ide .
then set it to ide mode save and then reboot from bartpe;

the idea is to set bios to IDE mode somehow.the settings may may not match the wordings i used.

It was the SATA setting in the bios set to AHCI. I set it to ATA and it worked fine. Thanks for the help.

Please take note that depending on the use you need to make of the BartPE, having the disk set as ATA (or "IDE emulation") may affect performance.

If doing disk intensive activities under the BartPE this may be significant.

In all other cases it is mostly irrelevant. smile.gif
