hey, i have been lurking around here the past few days trying to look for a solution for this strange problem but havent found anything that really works.

i have made a bootable USB disk with bartpe and it boots up just fine. i made it so i could use ghost to restore a few images should anything break down the road or whatever. no issues with this at all.

so a few days ago i was looking into a PXE (network) boot and thought since i have a server on all of the time it would just make sense to boot from the network and use bartpe that way. so i got that all set up. the problem is that the image transfers over %100 and then i get this error:

txtsetup.sif corrupt or missing, status 18

i dont understand what i am doing wrong? i have used the same image that i used to make my USB disk, the 2 files from w2k3 sp1, etc, i only get this message when doing a network boot. what can the problem be?

Do you use the ramdisk-booting-method for the PXE-way?
And if yes, what's the content of you winnt.sif -file? It should look a little bit like this:
CODE
[SetupData]
BootDevice = "ramdisk(0)"
BootPath = "\i386\System32\"
OsLoadOptions = "/fastdetect /minint /noguiboot /rdpath=PE2RAM.IMG"

nice link thanks man

when i sat down after work today, i dont know what i was doing wrong but i wasnt getting the error anymore. turns out i deleted setupldr.ex_ from my SP1 installation files, so i expanded that and renamed it to NTLDR, and this time when booting it passed the error 18 error, strange. i appreciate the help, the link(s) gave me a few ideas.
