Hello,
i have made some tests with the FBWF Plugin. When i use FBWF on a real Computer i can write a maximum of 80MB to volume x. When i use FBWF within a VMWare-Player i can write up to 212 MB of data. It seems that on a real computer the CachType is always "pre-allocated" and within VMWare allways "dynamic compressed" independently of the value of CachType.
All tests are made with a WinPECacheThreshold of 128 MB. The PagedPoolSize was set to: (WinPECacheThreshold+50)*1024*1024. I tested FBWFAuto2 and FBWFAuto5 from oscar and the FBWF-manual-starter from Joschua and the FBWF from a LiveXP. I made the Tests on three different PC's and with the bootmedia: DVD-ROM, write protected NTFS-USB-Stick and a CDFS-USB-Stick.
Can someone confirm this behavior?
Did ever anyone write more then 80 MB Data on a real computer (not VMWare)?

Unfortunately no more than 100MB in a real computer is normal.

if you need more than 100 MB of free space in X: I would consider to use a BartPE that loads an NTFS formatted image-file into RAM.
With that approach I here use a BartPE that has 250 MB of free space in X:

what do the image-file contain?

@oscar
did you ever write data between 80 MB and 100 MB to fbwf? I am sure the limit is 80 MB.

128MB FBWF space is the normal maximum for XP/2003 WinPE.
To go beyond that, WinPECacheThreshold needs to be set to -1.

Check out Gena especially nikzzzz wimboot script that use vista FBWF version.
