I am using my laptop running xp pro sp3. I put in my xp cd and it found the source. I first selected "make a cd/dvd and left my xp disk in the drive and got an error...when do I put in the blank cd?? I then tried again and just selected "make iso" I got this error \bartpe\i386\system32\drivers\atmuni.sys 2 the system cannot find the file specified
What am I doing wrong???Thanks

And the error said "battery low?"

You can do it one of two ways. When PEBuilder shows it is creating the ISO remove the XP CD and insert a blank CD. Or create BartPE without the ISO/CD options checked, then replace the XP CD with a blank CD, enable the ISO & CD option then press PEBuilder's F5. This creates the ISO and CD from the BartPE folder you just created. BTW CD-RWs are a good option. Inevitably everyone recreates their BartPE CD, MANY times.

Actually there are 3 ways. Another option is to copy the XP CD folders to your hard drive.

Where was the XP CD?

Reporting problems could be improved. laugh.gif

But overall, nothing. You're just learning how to do something new, just like we all did.

Thanks for the help and sorry for the confusing post...I tried the build again and de-selected the cd/iso options again I got the error below:
I got this error" \bartpe\i386\system32\drivers\atmuni.sys 2 the system cannot find the file specified"
Got any idea what this is?
Ed_P
Search the PEBuilder\plugins folder for .inf files containing "atmuni.sys". Post the .inf file.

I could not find the file in plugins

How did you resolve the missing atmuni.sys error? huh.gif

Now when I do a f5 to make a cd, the program error says "invalid source path"

F5 reads the BartPE folder previously created by PEBuilder and writes an ISO using apps in the PEBuilder folder then writes the ISO to the CD again using apps in the PEBuilder folder. So what can't PEBuilder find?

I just changed the path from my d drive(optical) to my hd c:\

And when/why did you change it? wacko.gif The F5 functions do not use the source files to create the ISO and CD to the best of my knowledge. And the write to the CD has to go to a CD drive.

How did you resolve the missing atmuni.sys error?
I used a different cd

So what can't PEBuilder find?
I don't understand...the program just gives that error when I try to make the cd...at first, i didn't change the source drive/folder, then I changed it and got the same error both times,..should I just delete any reference to the source when doing the f5?

OK. You did mention you were using an OEM CD initially.

That makes two of us. wacko.gif

PEBuilder has 5 input boxes;

Source - which you must enter for the location of your XP install files
Custom - which is rarely used
Output - which is best left with the default name BartPE
Create ISO image - which specifies the name, and location if not PEBuilder, of the ISO file you are creating
Device - which provides a menu of CD/DVD devices you must choose from when the Burn to CD/DVD option is selected

Do a screen print of your PEBuilder window before you press F5 and attach it to your next posting please.

Once specified, correctly, you should never need to change the Source input box.

I guess I am a dummy.....I did a printscreen and opened it in paint and saved it on my desktop..I have selected the file but it won't upload....it is too large(over 2mb)
geno368
is there another way to do the screenshot?
rdsok
Save it as a JPG instead of a BMP file
geno368
Never mind...I finally figured it out. The program didn't create the iso file. The last try was a success...Thanks for the help.
