Hi,

I did a mistake, when the machine was going standby then I press powerkey and it power offs the device.

Then next time xp is not booting. not even in safe mode. Just a blank screen and mouse. But no start menu.

Safeguard easy 4.30.1 and PBA works OK. I have all password. and similar setup (my friends machine) that works.

Now I want to have ..... 1. best if windows xp is runing ok. so how to repair? I mean booting with xp cd and repair? Its a encrypted disk, do I have to do anything before?

or with some partition tool? or 2. data backup. please help. with bartpe is possible to access the disk?

What I would do in your situation would be to boot (from the CD or from the installed one) to the recovery console and run from it a CHKDSK.
Mind that RC CHKDSK options are not exactly the same as in a full booted XP.
You want to run it THREE times.
  1. first time with NO options.
  2. then with option /p.
  3. and finally with option /r

check the output after each run, first one should say that it found some errors but that couldn't fix them because no switch was provided.
second one is likely to say that errors were fixed and operation completed successfully.
third one is "to make sure".

But cannot say if this applies to "encrytpted disk" (it should, but I guess a number of factors may be involved)

What the heck is "PBA"?

I know.
You had ALREADY posted this kind of info:

I asked:

which is ANOTHER question from "Does PBA work OK?".

In any case it is completely irrelevant, you can either run CHKDSK from Recovery Console or you cannot.

Basically by switching off the PC while it was going in Standby it is very likely that the filesystem (which I presume is NTFS) is in an inconsistent state.
Your *only* hope to recover datqa (and hopefully) system also is to repair the filesystem.

Seemingly you cannot:

so you will need to create a "virtual client" (whatever it is) and go on from it.
