Full Version: Adding Storage Drivers to Bartpe

hi all,

i I've been searching for clear instructions on how to add storage drivers to a bartpe build but i am still confused on which drivers i have to add.

i am aware of what folder to put them in im just not sure what files to actually look for (hard drive, serial ata controller, IDE controller, etc)

when i create a basic bartpe build without adding any drivers, i then burn the iso on a cd then cd boot a lenovo desktop.

after bartpe loads i get the BSOD which im assuming is caused by the storage drives.

this is a newer lenovo about one year old so im also unsure if i have to add xp or win7 drivers.

also, if the lenovo site does not supply xp drivers then which drivers should i use?

thank you all in advance.

Hi

Since BartPE uses Windows XP (or 2003) you can not use Windows Vista or 7 drivers
you need the XP drivers for AHCI SATA Hard disk controller to match your PC (laptop) either from laptop manufacturer or chipset manufacturer

They are usually referred to as F6 floppy disk drivers (external usb floppy drives are still available)

Alternative use driverpack.net collection of mass storage drivers which are added as a plugin rather than placed in Drivers\scsiadapter

always give BSOD error details when asking for help
(0X0000007B is lack of mass storage driver)

No, add driverpack.net as a plugin. http://www.911cd.net/forums//index.php?showtopic=21226

Do NOT put driverpack.net to Drivers/scsiadapter folder.

It's either or:
Either use driverpack.net plugin.
Or use Drivers/scsiadapter folder
Do not use both at the same time. This may cause conflicts.
