I had one problem (doubt) , I build the CD using,

Win XPSP1
BartPE 3.0.32
XPE 0.9.7
(NO RPC Patch)

After booting with CD , if I click on 'Programs' Menug it shows empty,
i.e., StartMenu -> Programs ->(Empty)

And even I am not able to create any shortcut on desktop (using contextMenu option). If i choose 'shortcut', it gives 'error appwiz.cpl could not found'.
After that i copied appwiz.cpl file to system32 folder. Know it is allowing to create shortcut on desktop, but still 'Programs' menu is empty.

I verified in registry for application path, it is existing. Shortcuts are created in 'default user\StartMenu\Programs\...' folder. But in 'Programs' it is not showing up.


By disabling all plugins one-by-one, at last I found that '!Profile' plugin is giving problem which is provided with BartPE. It is happening for XPE 0.9.6 & 0.9.7.

By enabling '!profile' plugin it is creating only 'default user' profile, not 'All users' Profile. Without this plugin my PE+XPE working fine.

Is any body got this problem?

like cvarthi I have same problem. My Windows XP Home Edition is Russian Language and StartMenu is empty. Need some HELP ...

ps. this problem - in True Explorer plugin, in XPE - not. sorry poor english

haven't read all the thread but have you tried mkdirprofiles plugin that may resolve your profile problem.

sorry, I cant read all the topic =)) don't have abilities to do that
but, i'm trying to create worked non-english (russian) version of recovery cd based on bart's PE. I need russian filenames and strings in localised programs to be working properly

I see the author is using non-english version of win
And there are people from non-english language countries
Maybe someone have solved problems with national locales?
