I know knoppix has taken down their website, but Im updated every so often of a new build being created, and it being offered for download at reliable linux sources (or at least I think they are) so I dunno whats goin on with that. I havent read the law cuz I dont live in Europe, I just assumed itd get taken care of somehow. But, just like knoppix, Bart, you can continue creating pebuilder, you just cant actively announce it - I am ASSUMING because like I said, Ive seen a newer Knoppix build

IIRC, Knoppix shut down their site because they're protesting against the software patents. That doesn't necessarily mean that they're dead at that moment .
