Full Version: How Can I Change Background Colour
The CD Forum > Modboot > Network Bootdisk

During bootup in Bart's Boot Disk I want to change the background colour.

In MsDOS I can use Ansi.sys in the Config.sys & Ansiset in the Autoexec.bat.
Unfortunateley, Ansi.sys is incompatible with Freedos (incorrect Dos version)

Can anyone suggest a way of colour control in BARTS boot disk ?

can't you add a line in the config.sys called "menucolor=XY" where XY are the color numbers (http://www.csulb.edu/~murdock/menucolor.html)...?

just out of curiosity,

is menucolor for the background of the menu or for the background of the desktop? smile.gif

and for anyone interested in changing background image and start button:

Yourtech, you're offtopic here.

the topicstarter asked about a way to change the background of Bart Lagerweij's DOS bootdisk, not the background of BartPE..

FreeDOS has the NANSI driver,
http://www.ibiblio.org/pub/micro/pc-stuff/...iles/dos/nansi/

device=nansi.sys

MENUCOLOR=X,Y

look at Google for more detailed info about MENUCOLOR.
I know X and Y each must be a value between 1 and 15,
and not the same value ofcourse (otherwise you don't see text on the background).
each number represents a color.
